The Gilded Peach in Key West

Well, it's been awhile. Since the closing of my Key West location in April, I haven't had as much time to be making jewelry as I used to, seeing as I now have a full-time job at a resort, and also work at the co-op Gallery of Key West, where I am artist member. But recently I have had some time and some creative energies, so there are about two dozen or so new pieces in the gallery, if you happen to be on Duval Street or are looking for a present! The gallery is located at 824, and is open from 10-7 every day. I work there on Wednesdays, if you have a repair  or are looking for something specific. Come on in!

   I have also not posted much new on the Etsy site, and I will explain that as well. I have been extremely discouraged lately from putting my work on public forums, as it seems someone(s), and I shall refrain from naming names, is duplicating my work with alarming accuracy almost as soon as I put it up, and selling it, both in a retail establishment and on Etsy. While it is generally understood in the jewelry-making community that sometimes artists can have similar styles, or be inspired by one another, this type of blatant copycat behavior, especially in an environment where I am well-known, is disgusting, and an insult to me as an artist. I got into making jewelry because I live to create and I love color and style- how can one call oneself an artist if one is simply ripping off (and riding the coattails of) another? That is all I will say about that, and I try daily to rise above it, but sometimes it just smacks me in the face.

ANYWAY, that being said, I have decided to put some photos in this post of my newest work, to invite you all to see what will be in store for you this holiday season, which is when I will be doing the majority of my uploading to the Etsy site. Also, I will be participating in the Marriott International Headquarters Holiday Craft Show on DECEMBER 1RST in Betheda, so those of you who have purchased there from me in the past, I look forward to seeing you again!!! Also, that week I am planning to have a TRUNK SHOW in Baltimore, but I have yet to determine the time/place, so keep watching this space!

New Items on Etsy

Hello everyone!It has been quite awhile since I posted, I know, and probably with good reason. Sadly, I had to close the Key West boutique in March, so consequently, there hasn't been a lot to report. Now I am working on re-establishing the Etsy website and building inventory out of my home studio- I am trying to get my product back to where it was before this pesky recession. Expect some fabulous things to be showing up on Etsy over the next few weeks and months! Upcoming Events in Key West and Baltimore!!

Just some reminders about events in both cities!

Baltimore-

I will be bringing my jewelry (along with some champagne and goodies) to the Sassanova Harbor East Shopping Night on December 10th, from 5-9! Stop by to check out their fabulous shoes, accessories, and clothing, and maybe pick up a stocking stuffer from The Gilded Peach!

The following night, come visit me at Babe Boutique in Federal Hill, where I will be showing my jewelry and participating in Moonlight Madness! December 11th, from 8-12, with progressive discounts throughout the evening- always a fun night for shoppers and revelers alike!

Key West-

December 14th, 5:30-9:30, Upstairs at Louie's Backyard! Get your holiday shopping out of  the way, all in one place! A handful of Key West boutiques and jewelry designers will be selling their fabulous wares in the beautiful upstairs overlooking the water. Come for the jewels, stay for the martinis!

Key West Garden Club Plant Sale and Art Show

This weekend I will be participating in the Key West Garden Club Plant Sale and Art Show at the West Martello Tower! Come on out to pick up some new flora for your abode, maybe grab some fresh herbs, and check out all the local artists who participate! I will be there with loads of new art magnets, including my new Redoute and Renard series! 10am-3pm both days, at Higg's beach! The weather promises to be lovely!!

New and Improved Gilded Peach

All kinds of new happenings at The Gilded Peach! Following our little setback in September,  I have been working very hard to get the shop back into a presentable state, and get the web presence back to what it once was. While I have made lots of new jewelry for the new space, I also recently branched out into making art magnets from my oh-so-popular bottle cap necklace designs, and I am selling them solo or as sets of 4. Many more designs are coming- they are fairly labor-intensive on the design side, so please bear with me! Also, in my physical space, i have taken in a couple new artists; Alicia E. Renner, an incredibly gifted photographer and visual artist, and a local artisan going by the name of Tann Mann, who creates earthy, simple designs from natural jaspers and corals. They have helped to make my gallery even more full and beautiful!

    Also, in other news, my new website is only a week or so away from launching, which will take me off of Etsy and into a whole new level of e-commerce. You can check out the site-in-progress here, but please note that the site is not active yet.

   Upcoming events- I will be doing another show at Louie's Backyard later this month, with the date to be announced! (I believe its the 21rst but not 100% sure). I will post on that as soon as I know, probably early this week. ALSO, I will be at Sassanova in Harbor East for the Harbor East Holiday Shopping Days event on Thursday, December 10th from 5-9, so come shop at those fabulous shops and enjoy deals and refreshments! Then, if you're still not satiated, the next night is Moonlight Madness in Federal Hill, and I will have my jewels at Le Petit Cochon, 1030 S. Charles St (and yes, they are still open- I know there has been a lot of confusion!) December 11th, 8-midnight!
